Maurice Eugene Kaiser

June 2, 1929 -- January 24, 2012

DENVER, Colorado --Maurice was born at home on the family farm north of Herndon Kansas.

He graduated from Herndon High school in 1947 and attended McCook Junior College prior to acceptance into Officer's Candidate School.

Maurice honorably served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. Most of his career was spent piloting C130 transport aircraft. He retired at the rank of Lt. Col. in December 1970 and is a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During his military career, he had the opportunity to fly over the family homestead and tip his wings to acknowledge his father who was working the field.

Maurice married Mary Marquez of Portland, Oregon on Sept. 13th, 1952. The family moved to Denver after his retirement from the Air Force where he sold real estate and managed a number of hobby shops. He loved to play golf and had a life time passion for building and flying model airplanes.

Maurice was a devoted husband, loving father, faithful Catholic, and possessed a great love of country.

His parents, deceased, were William Kaiser and Elizabeth Kaiser of Herndon, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Terry Plowman and her husband, Kent Plowman of Brighton, Colorado; son, Frank and his wife, Linda, of Colorado Springs; son, Steven, son, Paul and his wife, Kendra, and son, David, all from Thornton, Colorado; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; his sisters, Bridget Barenberg of Englewood, Colorado and Mary Morin of Peabody, Massachusetts.

A funeral Mass will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Westminster, Colorado on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 11 am, preceded by a rosary at 10:15 a.m.

He will be buried with full military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado, Friday, Feb. 3 at 9 a.m.
