WAUNETA, Nebraska -- Edward "Ted" A. Grimm, 70, died Saturday (Feb. 19, 2011), at his home in Wauneta.

He was born Dec. 8, 1940, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Charles and Margaret (Scofield) Grimm. He lived in Englewood, Colorado from the the time of his birth until his retirement.

He was baptized on May 9, 1948, and confirmed on April 11, 1954, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Englewood. He attended first through eighth grade at Immanuel Lutheran school and graduated from Englewood High School in 1959.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Vlasin on Oct. 16, 1971, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Denver.

He worked for C.A. Norgen Company in Littleton, Colorado for 35 years.

The couple moved to Wauneta after his retirement on Sept. 9, 1999.

He was a member of Wauneta's Village Board and the Wauneta Park Board and Tree Board.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Gary; and sister, Violet King.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Wauneta; daughter, Elizabeth Piercey and husband, Mark of Fishers, Indiana; son, Edward Grimm and wife, Lisa of Lakewood, Colorado; brothers, James and wife, Deanna Beachem, Steve and wife, Beverly Haskins, all of Wauneta, and Edward and wife, Mary Vlasin of Nine Mile Falls, Washington; sister-in-law, Marcy Grimm; brother-in-law, Harold Krieg; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services are Thursday, 10 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta with the Rev. Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Following a fellowship meal after services, interment is at the Madrid Cemetery in Madrid, Nebraska.

There is no public visitation.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta, for the benefit of educating the pastors and church workers, and the American Cancer Society.
