OBERLIN, Kansas -- Paul W. Miesner, 40, died Wednesday (Feb. 2, 2011), at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.

He was born Sept. 11, 1970, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James and Ruth (Spencer) Miesner. He was raised in Fort Worth and Amarillo, Texas, and Aurora, Colorado. His education was at Amarillo Elementary School in Amarillo and Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, which he graduated from in 1991.

He moved to Oberlin in 2008. He was disabled.

He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Oberlin.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fredrick and Gladys Miesner, and Harry Spencer.

He is survived by his parents, James and Ruth Miesner of Oberlin; grandmother, Edith Spencer of Lakin, Kansas; brothers, John and wife Brenda Miesner of Manhattan, Kansas, and David Miesner of Highland Ranch, Colorado; and one nephew, William Miesner.

Funeral services are Monday, 11 a.m., with the Rev. Kevin Schnakenburg officiating. Interment is in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Good Samaritan Society Decatur County.

There is no visitation.
