Hock, Friess exchange vows
McCOOK, Nebraska -- Rebecca Irene Hock of Culbertson, Nebraska and Brian Michael Friess of Macedonia, Ohio were united in marriage on Feb. 6, 2010, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with, uncle of the bride, the Rev. Paul Colling, officiating the nuptial Mass, the Rev. Gary Brethour as concelebrant, aunt of the bridegroom, Kathy Friess of Northfield, Ohio as the lector of Mass, and, brother of the bride, Neal Hock as master of ceremonies.
Parents of the couple are Carol Hock of Culbertson, the late Bernard Hock, and Rick and Lorene Friess of Solon, Ohio. Grandparents of the bride are Mary Colling of McCook, the late Francis Colling, the late Leslie Hock, and the late Maxine Hock. Grandparents of the bridegroom are John and Wanda Friess of Northfield, Ohio, the late Jean Friess, the late John Travis, and the late Mary Travis.
The matron of honor was sister of the bride, Karen Bortner of McCook. The maid of honor was sister of the bride, Sarah Hock of Culbertson. The bridesmaids were sisters of the bride, Amanda Davidson of McCook and Melissa Hock of Culbertson, sister of the bridegroom, Meredith Burgett of Galena, Ohio, and Sarah Swaykus of St. Louis, Missouri. The bride's personal attendant was Kristen Lancton of Houston, Texas.
The best man was Nick Kontur of Northfield, Ohio. The bridegroomsmen were Jason Shaffer of Macedonia, Adam Duale of Seattle, Washington, Robert Kendrick of Bedford Heights, Ohio, Don Day of Stow, Ohio, and Andy Schleis of San Antonio, Texas.
The flower girl was niece of the bride, Paige Bortner of McCook. The ring bearers were nephews of the bride, Layten Bortner of McCook and Lee Davidson of McCook, and nephew of the bridegroom, Brogan Burgett of Galena.
The guest book and program attendants were aunt of the bride, Sharon DeVries and cousin of the bride, Caitlin Devries, both of Castle Pines North, Colorado. Music was provided by vocalist, Jackie Cornelius, organist, Candace Fagot, and bagpiper, Danny Breda.
A reception took place at the Republican Valley Event Center in McCook. The host couples were godparents of the bride, Brad and Mary Hock of Culbertson, aunt and uncle of the bride, Barbara and Greg Graham of Fort Collin, Colorado, and godparents of the bridegroom, Joanne Cowly of Aurora, Ohio and George Hoehman of Sagamore, Ohio. The cake servers were, aunt of the bride, Janice Corcoran and cousin of the bride, Megan Corcoran, both of Fort Collins.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of McCook High School and a 2008 graduate of McCook Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in graphic design. She is employed by LCD Photography.
The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and a 2002 graduate of Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture. He is pursuing a second Bachelor of Science in construction engineering technologies from the University of Akron. He is employed by Carron Asphalt Paving as a foreman.
The couple honeymooned in Ireland and resides in Cleveland, Ohio.
