CASPER, Wyoming -- Dr. David Allerheiligen, 61, died Wednesday (July 14, 2010), of a heart attack in Casper, Wyoming.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Allerheiligen. He grew up in Holdrege, Nebraska where he graduated from high school. He also graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and the University of Nebraska Medical School in Omaha, Nebraska.

On Dec. 26, 1975, David married Judy Young in Omaha. Dr. Allerheiligen served the McCook community as a family practice physician from 1978 to 1991. Since then, he has served as a commander/flight surgeon in the U.S. Coast Guard, and a faculty member of the University of Wyoming's Family Practice Residency Program in Casper.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Allerheiligen; and one son, Craig Allerheiligen in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Allerheiligen of Casper; son, Lt. Col. Nathan Allerheiligen and wife, Susan of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter, Christine Kleckner and husband, John of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; father, Arnold Allerheiligen of Holdrege, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Graveside services are Monday, 3 p.m., at the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Nebraska with the Rev. John Finster officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook.
