INDIANOLA, Nebraska -- Lynn Howard, 72, of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Indianola, Nebraska passed away May 31, 2010 in Denver following a brief illness.

He was born March 4, 1938 in Modesto, California. He spent his first 35 years in California working construction and in fruit orchards before moving to Colorado in 1972.

He married Judith Lee on May 31, 1974. The couple enjoyed living and working in Colorado until his retirement in 2002. In 2001 he purchased a 100 year old home for retirement in Indianola and completely refurbished it.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and construction projects around the house. Lynn's great love for trees was well known. In his retirement, he was employed seasonally by the Ag Valley Coop of Edison.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Judith Howard; two daughters, Beth Spruit and her husband, Marc, and Susan Eldridge and her husband, David and his son, Ron Howard; two granddaughters Brittany Spruit, and Katie Lynn Figueroa; three grandsons Matthew Howard, Ryan J. Howard and James Howard. He will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on July 3, at 11 a.m. at the Indianola community building. A memorial service in Colorado Springs will be announced at a later date.
