HAIGLER - Gail Dean Harford, 62, died Tuesday (Dec. 22, 2009), at the Wray Community Hospital in Wray, Colo.

He was born Aug. 5, 1947, the second child of Don and Virginia (Clegg) Harford, and grew up on the family farm north of Haigler. He gained his pilot's license by the time he was 16 and graduated from Haigler High School in 1965. He went on to college at the University of Nebraska, graduating in 1969. He worked for a couple of years in Mullen, before coming back to Harford ranch, working for his dad and uncle.

On August 6, 1977, he married Wanda Huebert. After the Harford Ranch split up in the early 1980's, he and Wanda began their own ranch, naming it Double H Inc.

He served as treasurer for the Haigler United Methodist Church for many years, the Dundy County Farm Bureau Board, and the Dundy County Planning and Zoning Commission.

He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Harford; father-in-law Milton Huebert; and brother-in-law Ron Huebert.

He is survived by wife, Wanda Harford; his children Brad Harford, Sharla and Joe Morlan, Nicole and Travis Howard, and Natalie Harford; his father, Don Harford; sister, Karen Harford; and numerous other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Graveside services will be Saturday, at 11 a.m. (MST), at the Haigler Cemetery. A memorial service to honor Gail's life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. (MST) at the United Methodist Church in Haigler.

There will be no visitation or viewing. A memorial has been established in his name.
