Barbara Lee Frasier, age 71, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Community Hospital.

She was born May 9, 1938, in Benkelman to Jimmie C. and Junetta (Elliott) Clack of Stratton. At the age of eight the family moved to Colorado. She graduated from Englewood, Colo., High School in 1956.

On April 19, 1958, in Sedelia, Colo., she married William R. Frasier of McCook. They resided in the Denver area until 1977, when they moved to Alliance, returning to Denver in 1981. In 1988, Barb and Bill opened Willow Ridge Event Center in the foothills west of Denver, which soon became Denver's premier location for catered parties, receptions and corporate meetings with more than 200 events a year, some booked three years ahead.

She suffered a stroke in October 1998, and another in January 1999, which caused them to sell the business a few months later and move to Bill's hometown of McCook in 2000.

She earned a Doctorate as a mother, wife and homemaker whose culinary skills and love of entertaining made her parties special.

She was preceded in death by a son, James, her parents, infant brother and a sister, Beverly Curtis.

She is survived by her husband, Bill of McCook, two sons, Robert and Daniel and daughter, Amy, all of McCook; four grandsons, Cody, William, Michael and Andrew and granddaughter, Kayela, all of McCook; mother-in-law, Virginia Frasier of Longmont, Colo.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her dearest friends, Chuck and Jan Campbell and Janet and Larry Rich.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial service.

Personal condolences may be expressed to the family between 7 and 8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 16, at 1107 Norris Ave in McCook.
