Betty M. Overbye

Betty M. Overbye died April 24, 2009 at El Dorado Manor in Trenton. She was 82 years old.

On June 4, 1926 she was born to Ira Ernest and Maggie (Woods) Peters at Denver, Colo. She grew up south of McCook and received her GED from McCook College. She worked at the Rubber Hose Manufacturing for around 14 years.

She enjoyed crocheting, being outdoors and especially gardening. Betty was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Eagles Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Larry Fritz; a brother Mel Peters and his wife Viola and sister-in-law Naomi Peters.

Survivors include: a son, Tom and wife Judy Post from Hereford, Ariz.; a daughter Sharon Daugherty of McCook ; two brothers, Cloyd Peters and Byron Peters and wife Shirley all of McCook; a grandson, Larry Daugherty and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook on Tuesday at 11 a.m., with Terry McCorkle officiating. Friends and family may send condolences on-line at www.carpenterbreland.com or sign her book at the funeral home during business hours on Monday.
