Sandy and Quinton Pohl

Sandy VanBoening of Wallace and Quinton Pohl of McCook were united in marriage Dec. 27, 2008, in McCook with the Rev. Delano Cunningham officiating.

Parents of the couple are Stuart and Lea VanBoening of Wallace and David and Cindy Pohl of McCook.

Grandmother of the bride is Dolores VanBoening of Wallace. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Betty Pohl of Holbrook and Roberta and Gene Cappel of McCook.

Mollie Sheffield of Kearney was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were sisters of the bride, Joni Matson of North Platte and Jennifer Ledbetter of Wallace, Jessica Braithwait of North Platte, Nicole Gier of Kearney and sister of the bridegroom, Kelsey Pohl, of McCook.

Mason Pohl, brother of the bride, of McCook, served as best man. Bridegroomsmen were Shawn Smith of McCook, Drew Wilson of Lincoln, Todd Travis of Kearney, Adam Dueland of Aurora and Reggie Bosshamer of Kearney.

The flowergirl was Emma Matson, niece of the bride and ringbearers were Andrew Matson and Joey Ledbetter, nephews of the bride. Madison Chitwood and Matthew Chitwood, cousins of the bridegroom, were candlelighters.

Ushers were Nick Nothnagel of McCook, Jeff Holthus of Kearney, Justin Bash of Kearney, Brad Braithwait of North Platte, Jacob Ledbetter of Wallace and Matt Serbousek of Glendale, Ariz.

Donna Hahn was the pianist and Mollie Sheffield was the soloist.

A reception was at the Red Willow County Fairgrounds. Host couples were Roger and Chris Smith of McCook and Monte and Ruth Sheffield of Wallace.

The bride earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and special education. She is employed as a first grade teacher in Gothenburg.

The bridegroom earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in parks and recreation management and is employed at Cabela's.

The couple has made their home in Gothenburg.
