HASTINGS -- Former Hastings resident, Kendra Elizabeth (Janssen) Hock, 23, of Gurley, Neb., died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, near Eustis, Neb., as a result of an automobile accident.

Services will be Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, 10:30 a.m., at North Shore Assembly of God Church with Pastor Tony Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Neb.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Kendra E. Hock Memorial Fund.

Visitation is today from 5 - 9 p.m., with family present from 6:30 - 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.

Kendra was born June 17, 1985, in Hastings to Kevin L. and Michelle F. (Hartman) Janssen. She attended Hastings Public Schools until eighth grade. She was home schooled and received her GED.

On June 28, 2008, she married Wesley S. Hock at North Shore Assembly of God Church and moved to Culbertson, Neb., and later to Gurley. She was studying Veterinary Medicine at Western Nebraska Community College, Sidney, Neb. She attended Dalton Assembly of God Church in Dalton, Neb.

Kendra was a very special person. She touched so many people throughout her life. She had an amazing relationship with her Heavenly Father, and wanted others to experience what she had.

Kendra had a deep passion for horses. When she rode she was free.

She was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister and friend. Her family was very dear to her. Kendra will be extremely missed, but we know we will see her again.

Kendra Hock was preceded in death by her grandfather, Harlan Janssen.

Survivors include her husband, Wesley S. Hock of Gurley; parents, Kevin and Michelle Janssen of Hastings; sisters and brother-in-law, Miranda and Aaron Rummel of Broken Arrow, Okla., Brenna Janssen of Hastings, Mary Janssen of Hastings and Michelle Burda of Seward; brothers, Chaz Janssen, Jacob Janssen, George Janssen, and Wyatt Janssen, all of Hastings; grandparents, Alma Janssen and James and Frances Hartman, all of Hastings; nephew, Connor Kapperman of Seward; aunts and uncles, Mike and Lisa Hartman of Duncanville, Texas, James and Kim Hartman, Lorena and Dave Barrientez, Kathy Koch and Elizabeth and Cori Dreher, all of Hastings, Gail Kendell of Gibbon, Tim Janssen of Westminster, Colo., Phil and Shelley Janssen of Grand Island and Mary and Bruce Morse of Blue Hill; mother-in-law, Zae Pohl of Bridgeport; father-in-law, Greg Hock of Alamogordo, NM.; and numerous cousins.
