HILLSBORO, Texas -- Vicky Lee Rehn, 61, went home to be with her father, Duke Marquardt on Sunday (Sept. 28, 2008) at St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

She was born in Stratton, Neb., on June 12, 1947, to Duke and Eris Marquardt. She grew up in Culbertson and attended Culbertson High School graduating in 1965.

After graduation, she went on to the Beauty Academy in McCook where she met Murray Rehn. They married on Nov. 12, 1967, in Culbertson. After marrying they moved to Washington D.C., where she worked as a beauty operator. She did hair for the senators' wives and was invited to the Presidential Inaugural ball by them.

They later moved to Golden, Colo., and were blessed with the adoption of their son, Chad in 1972. In 1976, they were blessed again with the adoption of their daughter, Nichole. She spent her working career as a homemaker and daycare mother.

Her interests were antiques, floral and interior design and she and her husband, loved garage saling. Her pride and joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Duke Marquardt.

Survivors include her husband, Murray of Hillsboro, Texas; mother, Eris Marquardt of Culbertson; sisters, Janice Elliott and Sandra Clevenger and husband, Tom, all of Culbertson; brother, Joe Marquardt and wife, Joy of Indianola; brother-in-law, Lonnie Rehn and wife, Sarah of Arkansas; son, Chad Rehn and wife, Jennifer of Arlington, Texas and their children, Olivia, Brittian and Julian; daughter, Nichole Rehn and companion, Natasha Pierce of Fort Worth, Texas and their children, Katelyn, Michelle and Victoria.

She will be laid to rest at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

In lieu of flowers memorials will be accepted in her name at Bank of America.
