AURORA -- Mary Dettman, age 55, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2008, at Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Rev. Jim Garfield will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery.

Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Lucille Dettman, the daughter of Archie and Rose Marie (Hovey) Bright, was born in O'Neill, Neb., on March 1, 1953, and died in Omaha, Neb., on July 10, 2008, at the age of 55 years.

She grew up in O'Neill and graduated from Aurora High School. Mary earned a Bachelor in Health Sciences from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University in Omaha. She was currently working for Endura Care Therapy.

Mary was united in marriage to Larry Dettman on Jan. 9, 1972, at Central City. They lived throughout the continental U.S.A. and chose Aurora as their home.

Mary was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church. She was also a member of AOTA, NOTA and Eastern Star. Mary's highest priorities were her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Bright and daughter, Brandy Lynn.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Larry of Aurora: daughter, Michelle Colburn of Aurora; father, Archie Bright of Grand Island; three grandchildren, Jessica Rose, Cassandra Lee and Ethan Cortez; two sisters, Nancy (Bill) Noller of Kearney and Jean (David Late) Kliewer of Kearney; brother, Edmond Bright and several nieces and nephews.
