CAMBRIDGE -- Janet L. (Witte) Davis, 43, died Wednesday (Dec. 12, 2007) at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

She was born in Cambridge on Aug 3, 1964, to Gerald M. and Jean M. (Ohlson) Witte. She grew up on the family farm south of Cambridge. She attended school in Cambridge graduating from Cambridge High School in 1983. She attended the Fort Hays University at Hays, Kan., graduating with a degree in Special Education. She obtained her Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Kansas at Lawrence, Kan.

She was united in marriage to Larry Todd Davis on Aug. 8, 1992, in Lawrence at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She taught in the Perry-La Compton Consolidated School District for 20 years. She worked with the special needs student, teaching many life learning skills as well as educational needs.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Todd and daughter, Chantelle of Lawrence; parents, Gerald and Jean Witte of Cambridge; three sisters, Barbara and husband, Duane Phillips; Brenda and husband, Mark Miller and Sharon and husband, Kelly Evans, all of Cambridge; three brothers, Steve and wife, Connie Witte, Roger and wife, Nan Witte, all of Cambridge and Mark and wife, Deb Witte of Colorado Springs, Colo.; parents-in-law, Dean and Dorothy Davis of Lawrence, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Catholic Church in Cambridge with the Rev. Robert Barnhill officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge.

Rosary will be recited on Sunday, 7 .pm., at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers memorials have been established in her name for Chantelle's education. Memorials may be left in her name or sent to Lockenour-Jones Mortuary, P O Box 247, Cambridge, NE 69022
