Gary Bowers

FAIRMONT -- Gary Bowers, 39, formerly of Holbrook, died Thursday (Dec. 6, 2007) at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

He was born Aug. 10, 1968, at Oxford, to Terry and Cindy (Leiding) Bowers. He was raised in Holbrook and graduated from Holbrook High School in 1986.

After high school he worked for Arapahoe Coop in Arapahoe for a few years, then worked at various coops and construction companies in Southwest and Central Nebraska. Most recently he was a heavy equipment truck driver for Concrete and Construction Inc. in Lincoln.

He was a Boy Scout and a T-Ball coach.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ivan and Maxine Bowers and JoAnne Schroeder.

Survivors include his parents, Terry and wife, Cindy of Holbrook; special friend, Michelle McCoy of Fairmont; daughters, Katlyn Bowers of West Point and MelAnne McCoy of Fairmont; sons, Tommy and Zane McCoy of Fairmont; brothers, Brad and wife, Cathy Bowers of Holbrook, Kelly Bowers of Holbrook; and his grandfather, Neale Schroeder of Arapahoe.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with Tim Bice officiating. Burial will be at the Holbrook Cemetery.

Viewing and visitation is Sunday, 2-8 p.m., and Monday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, and Tuesday at the church prior to services.
