OBERLIN -- Elaine J. Mines, 84, died Wednesday (Nov. 28, 2007) at Oberlin.

She was born Nov. 1, 1923, to Vernie and Jennie (Nitcher) Bradley in Oberlin. She grew up in Oberlin and attended Oberlin Elementary and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1941.

She married Elwood Mines on Dec. 12, 1943, in Oberlin. They lived on a farm northwest of Oberlin. She worked as a homemaker and taught school for two years. They later moved to Wheat Ridge Terrace in Oberlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernie and Jennie Bradley; brothers, OrvinBradley and infant, Perry Arthur Bradley; and sisters, Odene Koehler and infant, Frona Eldene Bradley.

Survivors include her husband, Elwood of Oberlin; daughters, Nancy Baumfalk and husband, Ron of Aurora, Colo., and Connie Goslar of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin, with the Rev. Charlotte Strecker-Baseler officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m., until time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Elaine Mines Memorial Fund.
