Helen Miller

IMPERIAL?-- Helen Gertrude Miller, 93, died Sunday (Sept. 23, 2007) at Chase County Community Hospital.

She was born Jan. 18, 1914, near Tuscola, Ill., to Claude O. and Maude A. (Evans) Dunbar. She graduated from Chase County High School in 1932.

She married Wilfred H.N. Miller on Dec. 25, 1932. They lived on a farm west of Imperial for 52 years. She worked as a homemaker. She also worked feeding the troops at the North Platte Canteen during World War II. Upon retirement they moved into Imperial proper.

She was a charter member of the Chase Community Extension Club, a 75 year member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 74 years, Wilfred of Imperial; daughter, Murlena Beard and husband, Max of Imperial; sons, Wilfred "Bill" Miller and wife, Susan of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Delvis Miller of Norton, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., (MT) at First United Methodist Church in Imperial, with the Rev. Kay Alnor officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 2-6 p.m., (MT) at Liewer Funeral?Home in Imperial.

Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church of Imperial and Chase County Senior Center.
