BIRD?CITY -- Marian Lee Howland, 80, died Saturday (Aug. 18, 2007) at Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was born Oct. 20, 1926, in Decatur County. She married John Howland. He preceded her in death in 1986.

She worked as a homemaker and school cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, John Howland in 1983; grandson, Gage Roesener in 1996 and two infant grandsons in 1973 and 1984.

Survirors include her son, Jim and wife, Karen of Palco, Kan.; daughters, Jan and husband, Royce Rambat of Bird City; Joan and husband, Kent Banister of McDonald, Kan., Jacque and husband, Mark Roesener of McDonald, Kan., and Julie and husband, Ed Brunk of St. Francis; twin sister, Marie McConnell of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Wesleyan Community Church in Bird City. Burial will be in Bird City cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., at Knodel Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to the Marian Howland Memorial Fund.

Knodel Funeral Home of St. Francis is in charge of arrangements.
