ARAPAHOE -- Verna Fae Stagemeyer, 70, died Sunday (Aug. 5, 2007) at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge.

She was born April 25, 1937, in Gosper County, to Charles and Louise (Silbermann) Rader. She grew up in Gosper County and attended Arapahoe High School, graduating with the class of 1955.

On June 24, 1955, she married Merle Owen Stagemeyer at Beaver City. After they married, they lived in Denver, Colo., for four years. They moved to Arapahoe in 1959, where her husband owned and operated Stagemeyer Construction. She worked for the City of Arapahoe for 10 years as a secretary and then in the housekeeping department at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center for 27 years.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merle in 1999; twin sister, Erna Mae Stone and sister Ella Arlene Stevens; and a grandson, Benjamin Stagemeyer.

Survivors include her son, Rick and wife, Janice Stagemeyer of Arapahoe; daughter, Tamra and husband, Doug Stalder of Arapahoe; a brother, Harold and wife, Joyce Rader of Northglenn, Colo.; a sister, Ethel and husband, Ambrose Meyers of Arapahoe; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. David Otten officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe.
