SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Welch, Garland June, born Jan. 24, 1919, in McCook, passed away on June 11, 2007, in Sacramento at the age of 88 years.

A long time Placer County resident, Garland was a devoted homemaker, 35 year member of the First United Methodist Church of Loomis, Calif., PTA President of Pioneer Elementary School, Lady Engineer Drill Team Captain and breast cancer survivor. She will be dearly missed by her Domino Gang and her painting partners at the life center.

Garland is survived by her cherished daughter, Patti Parigini and her husband, Bob of Folsom, Calif.; beloved granddaughter, Kristal Garland and her husband, Fred; loving great grandchildren, Penelope Lane Blondiau and Sophia; sisters, Jean Wiggs, Dorothy Hutto and KK Oliveres; niece, Kathy Wiggs; nephew, Michael; and many other loving nieces and nephews.

Garland was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Welch, son, Elmer Welch Jr., daughter Garland Jo; son, Chuck; brothers, Johnny and Wayne; and sister, Mary Kathleen.

A Celebration of Garland's life was today at the First United Methodist Church of Loomis, Calif. Interment will be at East Lawn Sierra Hills Memorial Park in Sacramento at 2 p.m.
