CRETE -- Lisa Ann Beckenhauer of Crete and Daniel Alvin Pomajzl of Seward were united in marriage Dec. 30, 2006, at the Crete Berean Church with Pastor Scott Beckenhauer of Bellevue, brother of the bride and Gregg Madsen, Pastor of the couple, officiating.   

Parents of the couple are Jerry and Cheri Beckenhauer of McCook and Alvin and Rosemary Pomajzl of Crete.  Grandparents are Arvene and Mildred Myers of McCook, the late Neva Myers, Howard and Dorothy Beckenhauer, Lumir and Lillian Pomajzl, and Lon and Rose Johnson.

 The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore an ivory satin halter gown with beaded pearls at a gathered empire waist and a sweep train. She had a necklace and hankie from her late grandmothers and a blue band from her mother and carried a bouquet of cream roses. The bridegroom wore a black tuxedo with an ivory vest and tie.

The matron of honor was Lynette Holloway of Papillion, sister of the bride.  Bridesmaids were Michalene Beckenhauer of Bellevue, sister-in-law of the bride, Sara Slingsby of Kearney, Mary Menke of Grand Island, and Dana Martin of Guymon, Oklahoma. They wore halter gowns of indigo and carried a single cream rose.

 Ryan Doyle of Lincoln, nephew of the bridegroom, was the best man.  The bridegroom's attendants were his sisters, Renee Fitzsimmons, Connie Eisley, both of Lincoln, Roxanne Walker of Anchorage, Alaska, and Cindy Watters of Lincoln. The best man wore a black tuxedo with an indigo vest and tie. The attendants wore indigo halter gowns and carried a single cream rose.

Personal attendants to the bride were Rosalyn Durre of Atlantic, Iowa, Michelle Fausett of Grand Island, and Jocelyn Weber of Cincinnati, Ohio.  The wedding assistant was Ann Shrewsbury of Crete.

Bell ringers were Josiah Beckenhauer of Bellevue, Christian Holloway of Papillion, nephews of the bride and Tanner Eisley of Lincoln, nephew of the bridegroom.  Flower girls were Haleigh and Hannah Fitzsimmons of Lincoln, nieces of the bridegroom and Mackenzee Holloway of Papillion, niece of the bride. Candlelighters were Kaitlyn and Brenna Simmons of Lincoln, nieces of the bridegroom. 

 Vocalists were Roxanne and Greg Walker, sister and brother-in-law of the bridegroom.  Jean Hester from McCook was the pianist. Ushers were Chris Fitzsimmons, Justin Eisley and Rod Watters of Lincoln, and Greg Walker of Anchorage, Alaska, all brothers-in-law of the groom, and Michael Holloway of Papillion, brother-in-law of the bride.

 Guest book attendants were Troy and Rise Johnson of Naples, Florida, cousins of the bridegroom, and Kyle and Tricia Sandy, niece and nephew of the bridegroom.  Host couple was Shane and Gina Gerlach of Omaha. Gift attendants were Joshua and Caleb Walker of Anchorage, Alaska, nephews of the bridegroom.

 Due to a winter storm, the horse and carriage drivers, Cliff and Brad Randel of Indianola, and host couple Paul and Jodi Sheets, of McCook. were unable to attend. 

 Following the ceremony was a dinner reception and a dance at the Perry Campus Center on the Doane College Campus in Crete. 

 Cake and punch servers were Jody Church of Omaha, cousin of the bridegroom, Esther Johnson of Friend, aunt of the bridegroom, Jolene Myers of Boulder, Colorado and Ann Beckenhauer of Annandale, Va., both aunts of the bride.

 The bride is a 1997 graduate of McCook High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney. She is an ELL teacher at Crete High School.

 The bridegroom graduated from Crete High School in 1993, Doane College in 1997, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2001.  He is a pharmacist at Pac'N' Save Pharmacy in Seward. 

 Following a honeymoon in Sedona, Ariz., the couple is living in Seward.
