ATWOOD -- Bertha (Micek) Williams 93, died Tuesday (March 13, 2007) in Minneapolis, Minn., at Catholic Eldercare.

She was born Aug. 12, 1914, to Anton and Matilda (Dozababa) Micek, on the family farm north of Atwood. She attended Czech School north of Atwood, elementary school in Herndon and graduated from Atwood High School in 1933.

She married Glen Williams Oct. 30, 1939, in Atwood. He died Feb. 15, 1962.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; parents, Anton and Matilda Micek; and seven siblings, Tim Micek, Rose Heble, Antoinette Sramek, Frank Micek, Victor Micek, Anna Micek and Clara Hill.

Survivors include her five children, John of Cumberland, Md., Maria "June" Williams Jones and husband, David of Minneapolis, Minn., Father Jonathan "Patrick" Williams, O.F.M., Cap., of Papua, New Guinea, Susan McGuire and husband, Tom of Minneapolis, Minn., and Maureen "Marnie" of Boulder, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood, with the Revs. Jonathan Williams, OFM, Cap., John Lager, OFM, Cap., and Galen Long officiating. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Atwood.

Visitation will be Sunday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at Williams Chapel and after 6 p.m., at the church. A parish vigil and rosary will be Sunday, 7:30 p.m., at the church.

Memorials may be given in her name to Atwood Second Century Fund, Catholic Eldercare in Minneapolis, Minn., or the Seminar Fund for Capuchins.
