HAYES?CENTER -- Marilyn Gladys Rucker, 78, of Hayes Center died Thursday (Dec. 28, 2006) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

She was born Aug. 13, 1928, in Hayes County to David and Gladys (Repass) Alexander. She graduated from Hayes Center High School and attended Kearney College. She taught elementary school for a short time.

On June 4, 1955, she married Stanley Dween Rucker in North Platte. Their entire married life was spent in Hayes Center.

She was a member of the Union Congregational United Church of Christ. She participated in Women's Fellowship within that church. She was also a member of the notorious Kitchen Klatter Band.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Gladys Alexander; one son, Michael Steven; two sisters, Betty Fritzler and Helen Enyeart; and one brother, James Alexander.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley Rucker of Hayes Center; son, Alan Rucker of Hayes Center; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were today at 1:30 p.m. at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Hayes Center with the Rev. Fay Ann Blaylock officiating.

Visitation was today from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church in Hayes Center.

Memorials may be given to the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Hayes Center.
