COZAD --?Lula D. Hardin, 92, formerly of Beaver City died Tuesday (Nov. 28, 2006) at Golden Living Center in Cozad.

She was born May 4, 1914, at Edison to Joseph and Gertrude (Pearson) Weir. She grew up on a farm south of Edison, before the family moved to a farm north of Beaver City, where she attended school.

She married Gerald Hardin on Jan. 4, 1934, at Norton., Kan. They moved to Beaver City after farming south of Holbrook for a few years. Gerald died on Aug. 12, 1977.

She moved to Beaver City Plaza in 1980 and lived there until October 2005, when she moved to Beaver City Manor. She moved to Golden Living Center in Cozad on April 4, 2006.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Beaver City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; one son, Robert in 1994; a brother, Cecil "Spike" Weir; three sisters, Luella Lambert, Margaret Rutan and Berneice Promer.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth and wife, Deanna Hardin of Richardson, Texas; daughter-in-law, Esther Hardin of Lincoln; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hall of Englewood, Colo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m., at First United Methodist Church in Beaver City, with the Rev. Robert Berlie and Keith Theobald officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1-8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City.

Memorials may be given in her name to the United Methodist Church or Alzheimer's Organization and can be left at the funeral home or at the service.
