CAMBRIDGE -- Eldrid W. Bantam, 84, died Tuesday (Sept. 5, 2006) at the Cambridge Hospital. 

She was born Dec. 17, 1921, near Huntley, to Harold H. and Alvina S (Schoneberg) James.  She grew up on the family farm south of Orleans.  

On Dec. 31, 1939, she married Noble Bantam in Smith Center, Kan.

 The couple farmed south Orleans. She worked in the cafeteria of the Orleans school.  After the death of her husband, she moved to Cambridge. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Noble, on June 19, 1987; and a sister, Opal Moore.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat and husband, Rusty Fritz of O'Neal and Dee Bantam of Cambridge; one sister, Helen Rogers of Long Island, Kan.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge, with the Rev. David Rowe officiating.  Burial will follow at 2 p.m., graveside service at the Orleans Cemetery in Orleans

Memorial may be left in her name to the Cambridge Park Foundation.
