August 'Gus' William Rummel

ATWOOD, Kan. -- August "Gus" William Rummel, 93, died Wednesday (July 26, 2006) at Good Samaritan Center in Atwood.

He was born May 29, 1913, in St. Francis, to Henry and Vivian (McKnight) Rummel. He was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in 1940.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Lenora; second wife, Margaret; four brothers, Wesley, Arlie, Victor, and Stanley; and two sisters, Evelyn and Helen.

Survivors include his family, Audrey Gannon and Inez Johnson, both of Atwood, Percy Rummel of Bartlesville, Okla., Eunice Linderer of Canyon City, Colo., Cecil Rummel of Greeley, Colo., and Jesse Rummel of Glenwood, Ark., and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Don Argrabright officiating. Inurnment and graveside services will follow at the Atwood Fairview Cemtery.

There will be no visitation, his body was cremated.

Memorials may be given in hos name.
