E. Mabel Nielsen

E. Mabel Nielsen died Saturday (June 3, 2006) at Community Hospital in McCook. She was 73 years old.

She was born Oct.29, 1932 in Longmont, Colorado to Floyd Herbert and Juanda Irene (Johnson) Morgan. She grew up and graduated from Longmont High School in 1950. She attended Hastings College and graduated in 1955. She lived most of her life in Hastings and had moved to McCook a year and a half ago.

She had worked for Keith Pharmacy of Hastings for many years and also did many hours of volunteer work. She was a member of the Hastings First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1996; one son in infancy; brothers, Lowell, Elmer and Thaine; sisters-in-law, Betty Morgan, Shirley Schroeder and Joyce Nielsen; and brother-in-law, Dean Peterson.

Survivors include: son, Greg Nielsen and wife, Valerie of Grand Island; daughter, Rebecca Nielsen of McCook; brothers, Richard Morgan and wife Shirley, of Kenai, Alaska, Charles Morgan of Bellevue, Colo.; brother-in-law, Dean Schroeder of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Audrey Peterson of Lincoln; grandchildren, Jacob, Kaleb, Zachary, Elizabeth, Morgan, Makaila and Erik; many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Hastings, the Holt International Children's Services or a charity of your choice.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m. at McCook Christian Church with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later time.
