LINCOLN -- 'Sadie' Irene Bellamy Fickenscher, 96, of Lincoln, formerly of Moorefield, died Friday ,( April 27, 2006) at the Assisted Living Home in Lincoln.

She was born Jan. 10, 1910, to Arthur and Ola Bellamy of Bertrand. She attended rural school they until they moved to a farm south of Moorefield. She graduated from Moorefield High School in 1928.

On June 6, 1928, she married Paul Fickenscher in a double ceremony with another couple in Oberlin.

The couple farmed in the Moorefield area most of their lives, then move into Moorefield where they managed the Co-op elevator for 14 years. Before retirement they lived in several states, where he helped build dry fertilizer plants.

After her husband's death in 1989, she remained in Moorefield until 1998, when she moved to Lincoln to be near family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Paul; three brothers; four sisters; and a granddaughter, Patty Ann.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna and husband, Roland Brubaker of Lincoln; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m, Tuesday, at the Moorefield Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Heimer officiating.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Moorefield Community Center.
