Eduarda O. Wilson, 78, formerly of Bartley, died at Community Hospital of McCook, Sunday (March 12, 2006).

She was born in Cananea, Senora, Mexico to Rafael and Josephena (Rios) Verdugo, the middle of 13 children.

She moved to the California where she took U.S. citizenship while in her early 20s.

She married Merle Wilson in California in 1944. The family made their home in El Centro, Calif., before moving to Evergreen, Colo. in 1949. In 1989, the family moved to Bartley where Merle opened La Sena Cafe.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle in 1995; eight brothers and sisters.

Eduarda is survived by her four daughters, Gloria La Russo Carlock of McCook, Merlene Bradley of Thornton, Colo., Joyce Elaine Martinez of Arvada, Colo., and Vickie Harrison of McCook; three brothers, Jesus Lugo, Manuel Rios, and Mayo Rios; one sister, Carmen Lugo, all of Mexico; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Interment will be in the Benkelman Cemetery at 2 p.m., MST.

Rosary will be recited at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be left in her name at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary, which is in charge of arrangements.
