CAMBRIDGE -- Francis Dale Sayer, 68, died Thursday (March 9, 2006) in Kearney.

He was born May 21, 1937, to Raymond and Velma (Brown) Sayer. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1954. He graduated with a degree in diesel mechanics from Nebraska State Trade School, Milford, in 1957.

He married Hilda Kapchinsky on June 30, 1956. He was a farmer most of his life and remained on the family farm until his death.

He was baptized in the United Methodist Church in Cambridge. He recently joined the First Congregational Church in McCook.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda; infant son, Michael; parents, Raymond and Velma; and brother, Dalwin.

He leaves to mourn two daughters, Melissa Dunn and husband, Russ, grandchildren, Francis and Trevor of Aurora, Colo., and Cynthia Melcher and husband, CWO Melcher, grandsons, Jack III and Jack IV of Brady; brother, Derald and wife, Patricia Sayer of Cambridge; nephews, Michael Sayer and Connie Meyer and family and Jared and Julie Sayer and family, all of Cambridge; mother-in-law, Ruby Kapchinsky of Claremore, Okla.; and numerous family and friends.

Services will be Monday, March 13, at 10 a.m., at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary, Cambridge.
