IMPERIAL -- Ella Winkelmann, 96, died Wednesday (Jan. 25, 2006) at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 26, 1909, to John H. and Minnie (Kastens) Bischoff south of Enders. She attended the German school affiliated with St. Paul's Lutheran Church, but later transferred to Lincoln School, where she graduated eighth grade.

She married Alfred Winkelmann at the Culbertson Lutheran Church on Sept. 2, 1930. They lived in Culbertson, Palisade and Benkelman before moving to Imperial.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wink in 1994; and her brothers and sisters, Henry Bischoff, Minnie Denker, Bill Bischoff, Fred Bischoff, John Bischoff, Bertha Denker, Carl Bischoff and Sophia Nordhausen.

Survivors include children, Don of Santa Fe, N.M., Jean and husband, Bob Hardy of McCook, Jim and wife, Sara of Waukesha, Wis., and David and wife, Katherine of Athens, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m. (MT), at the Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial with the Rev. David Kahle officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.

Visitation will be today, 2-6 p.m. (MT), at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial.

Memorials are being accepted in her name.
