NORCATUR -- Marguerite Lucile Fullerton, daughter of Charles Melvin and Nettie (Wotton) Butler, was born Jan. 18, 1918, on the family farm north of Norcatur, and passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin on Nov. 10, 2005, at the age of 87.

She grew to womanhood on the family farm and attended the Hudsonpillar District 16 rural grade school through the eighth grade. She also attended the Norcatur High School, graduating with the class of 1936.

On June 2, 1940, Marguerite and Averil Richard Fullerton were united in marriage in the Lyle Church. They made their home on the family farm north of Norcatur. Averil passed away Nov. 17, 1992.

She attended the Methodist Church in Lyle, Kan., and had received the Wildlife Habitat Conservation Award in 1987. She loved gardening and all kinds of birds and other animals.

Survivors include nieces, Velda and husband, Frank Ward of Norcatur and Barbara and husband, Robert Johnson of Sandy, Ore.; one great-niece, Wava Reames and family of Kingfisher, Okla.; one great-nephew, Leslie and wife, Lynn Ward and family of Norcatur; good friend and sister-in-law, Laurene Bryan VanOtterloo of Oberlin; one brother, Dale Butler of Norcatur; and special family friends, Bruce and Leatte Bandy and family of Colby, Kan.; other relatives; and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Mildred Bryan and Neva VanOtterloo; one brother-in-law, Gene VanOtterloo; and one niece, Monica Costo.

Funeral services were today, at the United Methodist Church in Norcatur with Kathy Aeillo and Carol Woodmansee officiating. Interment was in the Norcatur Cemetery.

Memorials are being accepted in her name at the Lyle Methodist Church and the Norcatur Cemetery Fund.

Enfield Funeral Home of Norton is in charge of arrangements.
