Aaron and Marci Sis

ATWOOD -- Marci Ann Zahl and Aaron Michael Sis were united in marriage Saturday, June 11, 2005, at St. John's Catholic Church in rural Atwood.

Parents of the couple are Bill and Linda Zahl of Stratton and Michael and Diane Sis of Atwood.

Grandparents of the couple are Sarah Myers of Cairo, the late Franklin Myers, Eulah Adkinson of Stratton, the late Willard Zahl, the late Harold Adkinson, John and Virginia Burk of McDonald, Kan., and the late Charles and Eleanora Sis.

The bride wore a white, strapless gown with a beaded, molded bodice, defined at a gently curved empire waist with a band of beading, which continued on the back bodice top and edged the wrap back which fell open to reveal a beaded under skirt. The skirt and train were edged with the same look and ended in a cathedral length. She wore a cathedral length veil and carried a cascading bouquet of red roses.

Kelsi Zahl of Phoenix, Ariz., sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelsie Imel of Omaha, Trina Zahl of Monument, Colo., sister-in-law of the bride, Katie Friesen of Omaha, Kathryn Schroeder of Colby, sister of the bridegroom, and Katie Brennan of Callaway.

Nicholas Cahoj of Manhattan, Kan., cousin of the bridegroom, served as best man. Bridegroomsmen were Travis Hubl of Stratton, Scott Faimon of Norfolk, Dallas Jesch of Stratton, Mike Schroeder of Colby, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Merrill Latta of Kearney.

The bride's personal attendants were Kelly Hamilton of Lincoln and Crystal Grabher of Redondo Beach, Calif. Ushers were Brendan Zahl of Monument and Travis Zahl of Carrolton, Mo., brothers of the bride.

The flower girl was Andrea Sis of Colby, sister of the bridegroom. Devan Zahl of Monument, nephew of the bride, and Dominic Schroeder of Colby, nephew of the bridegroom, served as ringbearers. Candelighters were Stephanie and Valerie Sis of Atwood, sisters of the bridegroom.

The guestbook attendants were Kari Newcomb and Kayla Smalley, both of Lincoln. Program attendant was Kristin Watson of Kearney. Music was provided by Jenny Faimon of Arvada, Colo., Kelsi Zahl of Phoenix and Mary Faimon and Beth Kollmorgen, both of Stratton.

Celebrants were the Revs. Sean Redmond and Damian Richards. Bill Cahoj of Atwood, uncle of the bridegroom, served as lector. Altar servers were Keenan Reeh of McDonald and Gabriel Skolout of Atwood.

Following the ceremony, a reception, dinner and dance took place at the Columbian Hall in Atwood. Hosts of the reception were George and Carol Huff of McCook, Jim and Louise Ford of Cairo, Don and Freda Menze of Hutchinson, Kan., and Daniel and Judi Burk of Denver, Colo., all uncles and aunts of the couple. The cake was served by Rhonda Myers of Cairo and Leanne Whetstone of Kearney, aunts of the bride.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Stratton High School. She received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2003. She is employed as a banking officer at FirstBank in Aurora, Colo. The bridegroom is a 2000 graduate of Atwood High School. He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2005. He is employed as a Mechanical Engineer for Stanley Consultants Inc. in Englewood, Colo.

After honeymooning in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the couple is making their home in Aurora.
