HAYES CENTER -- Robert "Bob" B. McKillip, 77, died Monday (Aug. 8, 2005) at Community Hospital of McCook.

He was born Oct. 22, 1927, in McCook to George J. and Rose A. (Anderjaska) McKillip. He lived most of his life in the Hayes Center area. He graduated from Hayes Center High School in 1944.

He married Janet R. Stewart on June 13, 1951, in McCook at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. To this union four children were born, Joyce, Marjorie, Nancy, and Rodney.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946 during World War II. He farmed all of his life and also repaired phone lines. He had a great love for his family as well as hunting and the outdoors.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hayes Center, Knights of Columbus of McCook, the McCook Elks Club and the Chris Hansen American Legion Post No. 203.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers-in-law, Virgil Lytle, Floyd Bailey, Raleigh Myers and Clyde Hopper; and a sister-in-law, Helen Bailey.

Survivors include his wife, Janet of Hayes Center; three daughters, Joyce Vinson and husband, Larry of Sallisaw, Okla., Marjorie Porter and husband, Larry of McCook and Nancy Willers and husband, Joel of McCook; a son, Rodney McKillip and wife, Alice of Hayes Center; a sister, Evelyn Lytle of McCook; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Myers of Palisade and Artie Hopper of Huntsville, Ark.; two brothers-in-law, Bill and wife, Bettye Stewart of McCook and Jim and wife, Lynda Stewart of Little Rock, Ark.; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials are being accepted in his name.

Rosary will be Thursday, 7 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 1 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hayes Center.

Visitation is today and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home (Please use the south door on C Street.) Friends may also go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences.
