EUSTIS -- Inez Pfeiffer, 78, died Wednesday (June 15, 2005), at the Cozad Hospital.

She was born Sept. 8, 1926, near Loomis to Ford and Alpha Linder Peterson. She was baptized in the Methodist church and confirmed in the Salem Lutheran Church in rural Frontier County.

On Oct. 5, 1947, she married Oscar Pfeiffer at Holdrege. The couple made their home on farm sites of south of Eustis, moving to Eustis in 1961. They later made their home in Bartley and Cozad, returning to Eustis in 1971. During her lifetime, she worked as a nurse's aide at several area hospitals and also was employed at the Co-op station in Eustis for several years.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dale; a sister, Phyllis Lind; and a brother-in-law, Bryce Pfeiffer and wife, Ida Lou.

Survivors include her husband, Oscar of Eustis; two sons, Dennis and wife, Sheila of Wauneta, and Dan of Eustis and his special friend, Sharon Janeski of Gothenburg; a daughter, Cathy and husband, Joe Babcock of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Dean and his wife, Anita of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a sister, Carmen and husband, Ralph Bork of LaHabra, Calif.; three brothers-in-law, Robert Pfeiffer and wife, Dot of Dunbar, Bill Pfeiffer and wife, Jean of Ralston, and Don Lind of Holdrege; a sister-in-law, Mary Peterson of Gering; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jeff Ruetten officiating. Interment will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell at 2 p.m.

Visitation will be today until 5 p.m., at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad and from 3-8 p.m., Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis.

A memorial has been established in her name.
