BEATRICE -- Thelma J. Lueders, 79, died Thursday (May 5, 2005) at her home in Beatrice.

She was born Dec. 4, 1925, in Linn, Kan. She grew up in Kansas. She moved to Beatrice in August of 1946.

On Feb. 8, 1948, she married John H. Lueders at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice. The couple lived and farmed near Clatonia for 12 years and then moved to Beatrice in 1959. She was employed at Formfit for 13 years and for the Beatrice State Developmental Center for 13 years, retiring in 1986. She also worked and volunteered at the Salvation Army Family Service Store in Beatrice.

She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary, all of Beatrice.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John on April 18, 1971; one granddaughter, Samantha Lorna Stevens; four brothers, Walter, Marvin, Robert and Milton Boerger; and three sisters, Christina Lehman, Della Rogge and Lorna Cramblit.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Lueders, Rodney Lueders and wife, Doris, all of Beatrice, and Ed Lueders and wife, Kris of Ogden, Utah; two daughters, Cheryl Stevens and husband, Jim of McCook and Karen Lueders of Pasadena, Calif.; three sisters, Velma Munstermann, Norma Lohse, both of Beatrice, and Florence Betten of Littleton, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Betty Boerger of Beatrice; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday, 10 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Beatrice with the Rev. Doug D. Irmer and the Rev. Timothy W. Wagner officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery of Clatonia.

A family prayer service is Monday, 9:45 a.m., in the Fellowship Room of the church.

Visitation is Sunday, until 9 p.m., at Fox Funeral Home in Beatrice, and Monday at the church one hour prior to services.
