OMAHA -- Patsy Sharlene (Baker) Matthews, 72, died March 15, 2005, in Omaha.

She was born Dec. 26, 1932, to James and Evelyn (Palmer) Baker in Stratton. She grew up in Stratton and graduated from high school in 1950. In 1951, she move to Shenandoah, Iowa, where she worked at Sidles Auto Parts as a bookkeeper.

In 1952, she married Elmer Matthews. She was a homemaker.

She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and was a 50-year member of the United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer in 1989; and nephew, Jimmy Baker.

Survivors include her daughters, Ruthe and husband, Raymond Grote of Fremont and Kim and husband, Rick Malcom of Randolph; brother, Wayne and wife, Dorothy Baker of Hot Springs, S.D.; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Don and Audrey Matthews of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Jim and Charlotte Matthews of Arlington; and four grandchildren.
