OBERLIN -- Kristi Fortin of Oberlin and Brandon Dirks of Gem, Kan., were united in marriage Nov. 6, 2004, at the United Methodist Church at Oberlin with the Rev. Heidi Wiebe, officiating.

Parents of the couple are Jerry and Jolene Fortin of Oberlin, Linda Dirks of Atwood and Dan Dirks of McCook.

Grandparents are June Fortin and Don and Ardis Roe of Oberlin and Dixie Stock of Culbertson and the late Art Stock.

The matron of honor was Lynette Glendy of Callaway. Bridesmaids were the bridegroom's sister, Stacy Hurst of North Platte, Erica Fortin of Oberlin, and Lori Fortin of Wamego, Kan., both sisters-in-law of the bride, and Kenzie Abbey of Manhattan, Kan.

The best man was Jimmy Kopriva of Hesston, Kan. Bridegroomsmen were the bride's brother, Corey Fortin of Manhattan, Nathan Greene of Jewell, Kan., Ryan Georg of LaCrosse, Kan. and Ethan Walker of Hugoton, Kan.

Flower girls were Jessie Fortin of Wamego, the bride's niece and Celianna Shobe of Oberlin.

The ring bearer was Evan Shobe of Oberlin.

Candlelighters were Corey Fortin and Kenzie Abbey, both of Manhattan.

Ushers were the bride's brothers, Kevin Fortin of Wamego and Daren Fortin of Oberlin.

Cheryl Metcalf of Danbury was the organist.

The bride's aunt, Donna Spresser, was the bride's personal attendant.

The bride's cousins Amy Carman of Dresden, Kan., and Angie Fortin of Sterling, Kan., were the soloists.

The reception was at The Gateway in Oberlin. Host couples were the bride's uncles and aunts, Jerry and Carol Manning of Derby, Kan., and Larry and Peggy Roe of Oberlin.

Guest book attendants were Carrie Spresser of Kearney and Melissa Manning of Derby.

Reception assistants were the bride's aunts, Judy Macha, Plainview, Texas, Jane Carlisle, Oberlin, Jill McCorkle of McCook and Joyce Juenemann of Selden.

The bride holds an associates degree from Colby Community College. She is a preschool teacher at God's Little Saints Preschool in Atwood.

The bridegroom earned a bachelor's degree in animal science at Kansas State University. He is engaged in farming and ranching.

The couple is making their home in Gem.
