Beulah H. (Mousel) Trumble

CAMBRIDGE -- Beulah Harriet Mousel Trumble, 86, of Cambridge, died Thursday (Dec. 30, 2004).

She was born Feb. 14, 1918, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Grace and Harry Babbitt. She was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Robert and Pluma Mousel. Beulah graduated from Cambridge High School in 1934 at the age of 16 and attended college in Hastings. She taught school in Welfleet and Danbury.

On Aug. 4, 1941, she married John Trumble. They lived in Colorado, California and Oklahoma while John was in the military and returned to Cambridge in 1945 to raise four children on the Trumble homestead. Beulah returned to teaching in 1961, completing her bachelor of arts degree in education from Kearney State College while working in Oxford, Orafino and then Bartley, where she taught until her retirement in 1990 at the age of 72.

She showed calves in 4-H. Beulah was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Cambridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, Pluma and R.D. Mousel; her siblings Lloyd and wife, Bicky, Claude and wife, Gwen, Wendell and wife, Velma, C.K. and wife, Dorothy, Rob and wife, Ruth, Agnes and husband, Farley Anderson and Dorothy Corcoran; and her son-in-law, Dick Lewandowski.

Survivors include her four children, Joan Lewandowski of Billings, Mont., Peggy and husband, Ken Hilton, Jean and husband, Gary tenBensel and John P. and wife, Luella Trumble, all of Cambridge; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Charlie Corcoran.

Funeral services are Jan. 3, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Catholic Church. Internment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge.

Memorials may be made to the Butler Memorial Library or St. John's Catholic Church.
