Wallin, Rusher wedding

Jeffery and Shawna Rusher

IMPERIAL -- Shawna Renae Wallin of Imperial and Jeffery Owen Rusher of Ordway were united in marriage July 17, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Imperial with the Rev. Murray Schmechel officiating.

Parents of the couple are Pat Wallin of Imperial, the late Garry Wallin and Edward and Judy Rusher of Ordway.

Grandparents of the couple are Olan and Mary Wallin of Imperial, the late Russell and Eva Polly of Wauneta, Junior and Jeri Weisshaar of Idalia, Colo., and Dale and Juanita Rusher of Ordway, Colo.

The bride wore a white satin, sequined, floor-length gown that was strapless. The princess shaped gown featured pearl and sequin trim with pearls at the neckline and around the floor. The back was ornamented with satin-covered buttons, while the back of the skirt had satin insets with a built-in bustle. She wore a fingertip-length veil and a silver crystal tiara. She carried a bouquet of yellow and pink roses, white daises and stephanotis.

The maid of honor was Maria Wieser of Sidney. Bridesmaids were Tracy Mhyre of Rapid City, S.D., Kali Glazier of Bend, Ore., Amy Rusher of Otis, sister of the bridegroom, Amanda Johnson of Lincoln and Lindsey Carter of Tyler, Texas. They each wore a floor-length, two-piece, butter colored, satin gown accented with a bustled back. They each carried a small bouquet of daisies and mini-yellow roses.

The personal attendant was Char Wallin of Imperial, sister-in-law of the bride.

The best man was Ben Holscher of Ogallala. Bridegroomsmen were Josh Schommer of Valentine, Travis Peak of Chadron, Dallas Welp of Wray, Colo., Luke Sittner of Scottsbluff and Blake Elliot of Denver, Colo., cousin of the bridegroom.

The flowergirls were Makenna Wallin of Imperial, niece of the bride, and Aspen Rusher of Wray, cousin of the bridegroom. They each wore a white, satin, floor-length dress and carried baskets of red and white rose petals.

The ring bearers were Dakota Wallin and Kalen Wallin of Imperial, nephews of the bride.

Candlelighters were Justus Wallin and Makenna Wallin of Imperial, nephew and niece of the bride.

Ushers for the ceremony were Jake Ellerd and Dirk Anderson, both of Wray.

The pianist was Rob Browning and Jeremy Vlasin was the soloist.

The reception was at the Chase County Fairgrounds in Imperial. Megan Rusher and Mindy Rusher, cousins of the bridegroom, were the guestbook attendants and reception attendants. Sherry Wallin, sister-in-law of the bride, was also a reception assistant. The wedding cake was made by Doris Vlasin of Hayes Center.

The couple honeymooned in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and Las Vegas, Nev.

The couple both attend Chadron State College. They are both majoring in secondary education and plan to graduate in 2006.

The couple lives in Chadron.
