CAMBRIDGE -- Jennie Marie Weatherwax, 93, died Thursday (Sept. 9, 2004) at the Cambridge Manor in Cambridge.

She was born Sept. 30, 1910, to Moses and Mary (Goreley) Richard in Red Willow County. She attended school and graduated from Beaver City High School in 1929. After school she was a teacher and helped care for her parents and sisters.

On June 20, 1942, she married Stephen Story. The couple made their home south of Hendley, where they farmed until they moved to their home in Arapahoe in September of 1962. Her husband died Nov. 7, 1970.

In 1972, she married Delbert Weatherwax. The couple lived on Delbert's farm until May 1975, when they moved to Arapahoe. He died July 12, 1988.

In 1999, she moved to Heritage Plaza in Cambridge, then to the Tri Valley Assisted Living and the Cambridge Manor, both of Cambridge.

She was a member of the Christian Church of Christ in Arapahoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Stephen; second husband, Delbert; six sisters, two brothers; and one step-daughter, Louis Voss-Hahn.

Survivors include her step-son, Frank and wife, Viola Weatherwax of Niobrara; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services are Sunday, 2:30 p.m., at the Christian Church of Christ in Arapahoe with the Rev. Milton Jones officiating. Interment will be in Hendley Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., at the Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe.
