Pearl Meager

Long time resident of McCook, Pearl Meager, died March 18, 2004, in Medford, Ore. She was 92 years old. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, and daughter Karen.

Pearl is survived by her son, Dr. Phil Meager of Medford. She has three sisters, Francis Allgeier and Mary Rogers, both of Laramie, Wyo., and Emma Smith of Long Beach, Calif. She has six grandchildren, Steven Meager of Lafayette, Calif., Stacey and Jamie Meager of Medford, Ron Ehlert of Billings, Mont., Cindy Kynoch of Boise, Mont., and Christina Egeland of Deer Lodge, Mont.

Pearl graduated from the University of Wyoming with a teaching credential and taught in Centennial, Wyo., during World War II. After raising her children she again attended the University of Wyoming graduating with a bachelor of science degree in education. She retired as an elementary school teacher in Indianola. She was a full time substitute teacher in Indianola and McCook until the age of 75. Until recently she was a resident of Willow Ridge in McCook.

Pearl was a 50 member of the Eastern Star in McCook. She was also an officer and major stockholder in the Independence Gold Mining Corporation in Centennial, Wyo.
