ATWOOD -- Beulah Illinois (Swaney) Easterday, 108, died Saturday (Feb. 28, 2004) at Good Samaritan Center in Atwood.

She was born Sept. 21, 1895, to Jacob Ambrose and Louisa (Pigg) Swaney in Nokomis, Ill.

On Sept. 12, 1916, she married Wayne Easterday in Nokomis. While in Topeka, Kan., she worked for the Army Air Force Supply Depot and later, the Kansas Neurological Institute. She lived for a time in Mobile, Ala. She moved to Atwood in 1961, where she spent the remainder of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne in 1949; sisters, Mary Amstead, Rella German and Eva Swaney in infancy; brothers, Denis, Luther and Boyd Swaney; and great-grandchild, Natalie Miller.

Survivors include two sons, Harold G. "Doc" Easterday of Atwood and Donald Wayne Easterday and wife, Elayne of Mission Viejo, Calif.; daughter, Louise Stitzel and husband, James of Fort Collins, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services are Thursday, 9:30 a.m., at Atwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry McGuire officiating. Concluding rites will be performed by the Eastern Star Radiant Chapter 229 at the church.

Interment will be Friday, at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Atwood Good Samaritan Center in Atwood.
