Betty J. Gill

NORTON, Kan. -- Betty J. Gill, 76, died Friday (Jan. 23, 2004) at her home in Norton, Kan.

She was born April 1, 1927, to Harry and Margaret (Eliker) Wilson in Overton. She was raised in Wilsonville and attended schools there.

On July 21, 1946, she married Howard E. Gill in Norton. The couple made their home in Wilsonville, Goodland, Kan., Sharon Springs, Kan., and Norton.

She was a member of the Christian church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant daughter.

Survivors include her husband, Howard of Norton; three children, Daniel Gill of Salina, Kan., Dixie Penn of Robinson, Kan., and Douglas Gill of Norton; one brother, Don Wilson of Wilsonville; two sisters, Norma Kasson of North Platte and Mary John of Arapahoe; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are today, 2 p.m., at Enfield Funeral Home in Norton. Interment will be in Wilsonville Cemetery in Wilsonville.

A memorial has been established to the Betty Gill Memorial Fund.
