Floyd Lester Orman

NORTH PLATTE -- Floyd Lester Orman, 90, of North Platte, died Monday (Dec. 15, 2003) at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 15, 1913, to Fred M. and Delia (Ohlson) Orman in Hayes County.

On July 27, 1937, he married Lillian Fichtner in Hayes County. He spent most of his life in Hayes County as a farmer and also with the agriculture office in Hayes County for over 40 years. The couple moved to North Platte in 1980.

He was a member of Our Reedemer Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Matthew Floyd Orman; and two sisters, Rhoda Alber and Ione Turner.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian of North Platte; one daughter, Rachel and husband, William Timmons of Riverside, Calif.; two sons, Dale and wife, Sandra of St. Louis, Mo., and Maywood and Paul and wife, Delores of Maywood; three sisters, Ruth Wagner of Ventura, Calif., Darlene and husband, Alfred Unger of Hayes Center and Lorraine Morosic of McCook; one brother, Garald and wife, Juanita of Santa Anna, Calif.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are Thursday, 11 a.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Platte with the Rev. Frederick Simon officiating. Interment is at 2:30 p.m., at St. John's White Cemetery in Hayes County.

Visitation is today, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte.

Memorials may be given in his name to various Lutheran ministries.
