Frances Louise Debban

KEARNEY -- Frances Louise Debban, 83, died Friday (Dec. 12, 2003) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

She was born March 2, 1920, to John and Clara K. (Werner) Mussman in Deshler. She was raised and attended school in Norton. After school she worked in the Arapahoe area.

On Nov. 7, 1943, she married Clarence W. Mues in Oxford. They made their home in rural Holbrook. He died in May 1960. She then moved to Arapahoe.

On Oct. 27, 1965, she married Orvin A. Debban in Arapahoe. In 1970, they moved to Holdrege where she worked at Becton-Dickinson Manufacturing from 1968 until 1984. In 1982, they moved to Arapahoe. Her husband died in June 1990.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, LWML, American Legion Auxiliary of Arapahoe and volunteered for Meals On Wheels, Mission Mall and the food pantry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clarence; second husband, Orvin; infant daughter, Virginia A. Mues; son, Wesley C. Mues; brother, Melvin Mussman; and sister, Helen White.

Survivors include two sons, Robert and wife, Roxy Mues of Arapahoe and Victor and wife, Anna Mues of Chapman; step-son, Orvin Debban of Holdrege; three step-daughters, Antoinette and husband, Bob Williams of Loomis, Jeanette and husband, Terry Draper of Edison and Elizabeth Hall of Holdrege; daughter-in-law, Dwana Mues of Kearney; brother, Harold Mussman of Missouri; four sisters, Mildred Stump of Arapahoe, Luella Ruff of Holbrook, Faye Osborn of Leadville, Colo., and Ferne Noltie of Arapahoe; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe with the Rev. Carl Lilienkamp officiating. Interment will be at St. Matthews Cemetery in Holbrook.

Visitation is Saturday, 12-8 p.m., and Sunday, 1-8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe and prior to services at the church.
