Rolland Greinke 'Ron' Lange

IMPERIAL -- Rolland Greinke "Ron" Lange, 75, died Monday (Dec. 8, 2003) at Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Imperial.

He was born Nov. 28, 1928, to Walter H. and Emma (Greinke) Lange in Chase County. He attended school in Imperial and graduated from high school in 1946. He entered the Army shortly after graduation and was stationed in Japan. After his discharge Jan. 9, 1948, he attended Hastings College.

In August 1948, he married Vera Ross. He worked many years managing Hested Stores. He then went to work for Veteran's Administration as a canteen officer in several veteran's hospitals. He retired in 1975 and he and his wife returned to Imperial to make their home. Vera passed away in 1991.

He volunteered at the Imperial Public Library for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera; one son, Anthony; two brothers, Arno and Luther; and one sister, Lousetta.

Survivors include one son, Timothy Lange and wife, Judith of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter-in-law, Barbara; two sisters, Elsie Newman of Imperial and Lottie Gengenbach and husband, Harold of Imperial; one brother, Kermit Lange and wife, Joceline of Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.

Services are Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial with the Rev. Robert Frank officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
