Pauline (Brenning) Trupp

ARVADA, Colo. -- Pauline (Brenning) Trupp was born Feb. 23, 1913, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Miller) Brenning in McCook. She passed away at her home in Arvada on Oct. 19, 2003, at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 26 days.

She grew up in the German immigrant community and was baptized and confirmed in the Westside German Congregational Church in McCook. She was employed by the J.C. Penney store in McCook.

Pauline married Harry Trupp in McCook on Dec. 5, 1937 and they were blessed with two daughters: Sandra Kay and Connie Mae. The couple moved from Nebraska to the Globeville Community of Denver, Colo., in 1942.

Upon moving to Globeville, Pauline and Harry became active in the life of the First German Congregational Church of Globeville and later in the Heritage Community Bible Church. She was active in the Friendly Society, Ladies Aid Society and sang in the church choir for 68 years having begun singing in the choir at the age of thirteen years. She played the piano and organ at Westside Congregational Church and sang in a ladies trio along with Evelyn Cook and Esther Cook for many years at First German Congregational Church. She loved music and the ministry of the church choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry of 58 years, seven brothers: two in infancy, Jacob, Henry, Ralph, Lawrence and Walter and one sister Rachel Brenning.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra and husband, Chuck Doehling and Connie and husband, David Kuhlmann all of Arvada; a sister Dorothy Grosskoff and a brother Clarence and wife, Jean, all of McCook; five grandchildren: Mark Doehling and wife, Janine of Craig, Colo., Scott and wife, Mary Ann of Surprise, Ariz., Kim Dressell and husband, Rick, Christie Anderson and husband, Bill and Todd Kuhlmann and wife, Julie all of Arvada, Colo.; ten great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Robbie and Brittney Doehling, Conner, Tanner and Katlin Dressel, Emily and Abigail Anderson, Zachary and Grant Kuhlmann and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at Heritage Community Bible Church in Arvada. Interment was in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheatridge, Colo. Correspondence will reach her family in care of Connie Kuhlmann, 7652 Lee Dr., Arvada, CO 80005.
