ARLINGTON -- Inez G. Walrod, 88, died Saturday (Sept. 13, 2003) at her home in Arlington.

She was born Aug. 22, 1915, to John and Alma (Perkins) Underhill in Cornell. She was a graduate of Trenton High School and worked as a practical nurse in Stratton. She moved to Beaver City in 1945 where her family operated a restaurant. She then moved to Fremont in 1960 and was a cosmetologist. IN 1966 she moved to Arlington where she operated a beauty shop until retiring in 1978.

On Sept. 21, 1935, she married Ralph Hinkle in Trenton. He preceded her in death.

On Feb. 7, 1975, she married Melvin J. "Buck" Walrod. He died in 1987.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 8332 Auxiliary of Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and two brothers, Raymond and Robert Underhill.

Survivors include one son, Don and wife, Marcia Hinkle of Omaha; one daughter, Charlotte and husband, Irvin Easom of Ontario, Ore.; one brother, Lawrence and wife, Bethel Underhill of Nehalem, Ore.; one sister, Laurene and husband, Boyd Giesselman of Arlington; and four grandchildren and six grandchildren.

Services are Thursday, 9:30 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, with the Rev. Rick Kanoy officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m., at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Visitation is Wednesday, 2-9 p.m., at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington and Thursday at the church, 9 a.m., until service time.

Memorials may be given to Arlington Rescue Squad or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
