Frank Lawrence Pratt

HASTINGS -- Frank Lawrence Pratt, 93, formerly of Indianola, died Friday (October 5, 2001) at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings.

He was born on June 3, 1908, at Indianola to Jesse and Anna (Lehn) Pratt. He lived in Rome, N.Y., from the age of two to five when his father died and the family moved back to Indianola. He attended country schools in Red Willow County and graduated from Indianola High School in 1929.

On October 9, 1940, he married Stella Reiners. They farmed south of Indianola and east of Danbury. He also worked for the Danbury Coop Elevator in the 1960s and 1970s. They retired in Indianola in 1976. In 1995, they moved to Highland Park in McCook, and in 1999, moved to Perkins Pavilion at the Good Samaritan Village in Hastings where he lived until his death.

He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church of Indianola, where he served as an altar boy, acolyte, trustee and church board member. He was also a member of the Crosier Apostolate of Hastings, and was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Stella in 1999; one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Warner and husband, Donald of Hastings, and Elaine Rauch of Grand Island; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial services will be Tuesday, 9:30 a.m., at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with the Rev. Daniel Rayer officiating. Interment will be at the St. Catherine's Cemetery in Indianola.

The rosary service will be Monday, 7:30 p.m., at Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola with Msgr. Daniel Pohl officiating. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and Monday, 9 a.m. until time of the rosary service at Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola.

Memorials may be given in his name to the St. Catherine's Church or the Crosier Fathers of Onamia, Minn.
